Great news for music fans! Suren Arustamyan's album "I am Free" has been considered for the 2024 Grammy Awards in the 'Best Americana Album' category. This is a wonderful recognition of the talent and creativity that went into creating this special album.
Arustamyan in his music path keeps the fundamentals of the blues at the core but he also stretches in new directions, crafting timeless songs that don't easily plug into any one genre. His chops as a player and songwriter opened doors in his adopted hometown and he amassed a serious body of work ahead of this album.
"I was doing a lot of session work as a hired guitarist and, in doing that, was fortunate to work with an array of incredible and diverse artists. All along, I was continually writing songs with my own album in mind. When the time came to finally make I Am Free I had nearly 30 songs to choose from. I contacted Tim Carmon (Clapton's longtime keyboard player), who's a great producer. I was pleasantly surprised he responded and said he was interested in producing. He was able to assemble what I consider to be a dream lineup for the recording, with guys like Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Greg Leisz and Abe Laboriel, Jr. Working with them helped breathe new dimensions into the songs and I can't overstate how much it meant to me to learn from them."
Suren Arustamyan extends profound gratitude to the fans, collaborators, and the entire team that played a pivotal role in bringing "I am Free" to life.
This consideration doesn't only acknowledge the artist's individual effort, but it also honors the collaborative work that came together to create value.
